Halloween 2015

Halloween by petal to the metal

We celebrated Halloween this week with a really great selection of events and commissions.

The Zetter Townhouse

We were invited to help decorate the Zetter Townhouse for Halloween this year. The building is every inch a townhouse set in the heart of historical Clerkenwell and tucked in behind its big sister the Zetter Hotel. The bar/lounge area is an eclectic mix of rich, warm colours, sofas, dressers and unusual trinkets encapsulating the essence of Victorian design.

Our brief was to create the essence of  ‘Miss Havisham’ with touches of faded glamour and decaying flowers in parts of the bar.zetter 2

We attached a gorgeous, soft and delicate Asparagus Fern garland to the pair of pillars in the centre of the room, which we studded with a selection of decaying Rose heads, others were attached to light fittings, chandeliers and this old fella!

It proved a successful transformation for the weekend and helped gently celebrate the season!

ISES Halloween event at The Bloomsbury BallroomISES 8

This year I joined the fabulous networking group ISES, International Special Events Society. The organisation is a collection of event specialists who work together to collaborate and support one another. The year we were invited to provide the flowers and styling for the annual ISES Halloween event which was held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom.

Brief – ‘Transilvanian glamour’.ISES 2

At the entrance I filled this large window ledge with a collection of black Candelabra surrounded by crystal vases filled with masses of rich red Roses and Asaparagus Fern, with trails Love Lies Bleeding (Amaranthus) and fern tumbling towards the floor. The whole scene was completed with a mass of cobwebs which covered the decorations.ISES 3 ISES BAR VASEFor the Ballroom itself we created a pair of super large black glass vases which we filled with an enormous canopy of black, glittered Birch branches, surrounded by red Gravillea and lots of gorgeous rich red Roses.

A great event to be a part of and thank you especially to the fabulous Jacqui Partridge of Partridge Events for all her hard work and support.

As always loads of fun to be had of the Halloween festival I hope you had as much fun as we did.

Until next year ghouls
