June 2015
Hello everyone,
June turned out to be a right old sizzler and with the holidays around the corner long may it continue please!

A delicious summer combination
We had a really fantastic month with lots of lovely work to keep us busy and out of trouble and its great to be able to share it all in one place with you here.
The Haven London

Urn of gorgeous Summer flowers
We were asked to help with the launch of the Haven London which is a really great social enterprise headed by Rev’d Peterson Feital and aimed at bringing the church and the creative arts together. The launch was in the stunning St Georges church in Bloomsbury, so it was a big gardeny showstopper using a mix of purples and lilacs, with fabulous Delphiniums, Stocks, Hydrangea and Roses. Gorgeous!
Bridal Photo Shoot at RHS Wisley

Gloriosa bridal bouquetI
I took part in a bridal photo shoot with a collective of other suppliers to the wedding industry this month, we worked together to create a selection of beautiful images which showcase our work and give us an opportunity to share with the wedding industry at large via magazines and blogs. We put the shoot together in the stunning location of the Glasshouse at RHS Wisley. Such a unique wedding venue and a fantastic platform to create some great shots for our respective portfolios. I will have all the photos through at some stage in July so will share these with you along with information about my co-workers.
Also festival
Now there is one thing I have learnt since launching Petal to the Metal, when asked to do something and my initial reaction is fear and dread then it is clearly something that I HAVE to do! The lovely people at the Also festival asked if I would give a talk and host a workshop on floristry. The brief was quite loose, the festival centres on learning and sharing ideas, with workshops and talks around subjects such as “How compassionate are you?” and the science of Music and Memory, anything was possible.
I decided to keep it simple and gave a 1hr workshop to a group of 30 people, demonstrating making a couple of arrangements and talking through what I was doing. I wanted to give people something they could take away and try at home as opposed to creating some showpiece or intricate arrangement. The process was very informal, light hearted and fun and if the group enjoyed it as much as I did then a huge success all round.

It goes a little something like…….

Serpentine Summer Pavillion

The Pavillion and our flowers – Match!
The end of June heralds the annual launch of the Serpentine Gallery’s Summer Pavillion. A take on the traditional english summer pavillion, each year a different architect takes on the challenge to create something unique and special that catches the publics imagination and ultimately makes for a great summer exhibition.
This year it was the turn of Spanish architect Selgascano who have created this fantastic colourful installation! The flowers were so easy and it was a total joy to work on something so colourful and expressive, if you are in London over the Summer then you must get over to the Serpentine to experience the Pavillion for yourself.
