Botanical bridal shoot at RHS Wisley

22_1In June last year we took part in a bridal photo shoot with a wonderful collection of wedding suppliers (All listed at the foot of this blog), headed up by fabulous wedding photographer Amy Fanton and event organiser Gilly Keats of Amore Star Events. 40

The location for the shoot was the cathedral like glasshouse at RHS Wisley, an absolutely stunning space filled with a vast collection of lush palms, ferns, climbers and exotic flower displays.

The brief was to create a gorgeous table design for a wedding reception that worked with the space. I really didn’t want to go for a traditional wedding table and instead chose to work with the surroundings by creating a tablescape made up of a selection of ferns, plants and succulents. We added the touches of flowers in the shape of an apple green spray Rose, Poppyseed heads and the exotic yellow Gloriosa.

The accent colour was gold with cute antique gold candelsticks (Photographers own), gold rimmed dinner plate and gold cutlery and gold Camelot chairs. The addition of the yellow Gloriosa helped bring all of these elements together.

The Bouquet was an oversized, lush collection of Maiden Hair ferns, Nephroleptus fern and Asparagus fern which we studded with trails of gorgeous trailing yellow Gloriosa Lily.

My favourite element from the whole shoot were the chair backs made from Monstera leaves, Greenbell and ferns. Really simple but totally effective.

I hope you enjoyed and perhaps felt inspired to try some of these elements when designing your own wedding. I Cant wait for the next shoot now!!!

See you soon
