April 2015
Welcome to April’s Blog! Easter came early this year and as always was a great pitt-stop on our way towards the Summer! I went to Wiltshire for the weekend and was a little disturbed by a heard of territorial sheep !!!
Delivering weekly office flowers throughout London is a massive part of what we do and we love it. We started two new contracts this month, one in Mayfair and two new offices over in Paddington Basin. Here is a collection of some of the month’s weekly corporate deliveries.
Lancaster House event
I was so excited when I got the job to provide flowers for a corporate event taking place at Lancaster House in St James’s, London. The “house” is huge neo-classical building on the edge of Green Park, opposite Buckingham Palace and next door neighbour to St James’s Palace and Clarence House. A not too shabby location for our first big corporate event!

The stunning Long Gallery
The Event – A high profile business dinner for European CEO’s and business leaders. 140 guests.
The Brief – Flowers should look classic, not too modern, not too traditional, not too party! Colours for the evening were white and lime green. Nothing high for the table decorations as the tone for the evening is business plus there would be a presentation taking place so they were concerned not to obstruct sightline. That said the decorations need to be substantial and suitable for such a lavish room.
So this is what we did...
The Design – Choosing a container is always at the top of your list when you start working on a design for any event. Based on the client brief and the decor of Lancaster House I decided to use a gorgeous crystal bowl, they look so much more impressive than clear glass and just work so perfectly in an environment like this plus when you can’t go “high” then whatever you do “low” needs to be special. The flowers therefore would need to be strong massed domes which would work beautifully with the bowl and create a great centrepiece for the table.
The Flowers – Massed white Hydrangea which helps create the shape with lime green Guelder Rose for texture, softness and movement. I then studded the bowl with clusters of white ‘Avalanche’ Roses and a new lime green Rose called ‘Green Jean’. The overall effect when it all came together on the table was just perfect and really helped create the right atmosphere for the client.

The finished article!

Much love
