Summer is here and festival season is upon us, and so we returned to the wonderful Also festival as resident florist for the weekend.
Located in Compton Verney in the most beautiful part of Warwickshire. This boutique festival sets up home in THE MOST stunning setting which was famously designed by renowned 18th century landscape gardener Capability Brown, truly beautiful.
The essence of Also is ideas and the weekend is organised and managed by Salon London who curate a broad, fun and engaging programme of talks, workshops and discussions ranging from scientific to the emotional or philosophical. Aside from all the ideas there are a host of artists performing throughout the weekend, plenty of live music, theatre and dance, swimming, and a disco bunker! There really is something for everyone or something for all the family, dependent on who you visit with!!
Festival organisers, Helen & Juliet (Salon London), were really keen on flowers being a part of the weekend “We wanted to bring some colour and life to the festival in a different way, Paul and Petal to the Metal bring a magic that only flowers can do and we just loved having it as part of our festival”
We hosted two workshops in Also’s purpose built Orangery, Friday evening we invited festival goers to take part in a ‘Jam- Jar’ workshop, encouraging them to make something sweet scented, bright and colourful to decorate their tents for the weekend. Lavender, Sweet Peas, Rosemary and Peonies were all really perfect Summer festival flowers.
The following afternoon we hosted a super busy, jam packed ‘flower crown’ workshop, big blousey Peonies, Roses, Gypsophilla, Alchemilla, Sweet William and Hebe foliage were great material for our budding florists. The workshop was such a great success, everyone got so involved, worked together, gossiped and generally had a great time, we spilled out of the Orangery and onto the field which was where we stayed for hours playing with flowers, sharing stories and basking in the sunshine, a glorious festival moment!!Also completely rocked and we cant wait to do more with them next year, for me it is so great to be able to engage with people in such a gorgeous setting with the sole purpose of having fun and maybe learning a few tricks of the trade!
